CONTAMINATION
Contamination on the surface, near-surface, or inside the bulk materials or products can cause a number of problems and be troublesome, especially to the manufacturing process, those contaminations can include failure of a product, undesirable aesthetics, or failure of the quality. Each of the failures can cause a manufacturer faces not only a loss of money, but also take losses for entire batches and lots of products.
Therefore, identifying the right technique(s) and performing the proper contamination analysis, with the required equipment, experience and knowledge are critical.
Most of the equipment that is highly used for the detection of contamination is as follows:
- X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)
- Spotlight TM 400 FT-IR Imaging System
- Field Emission Scanning Microscopy (FESEM)
- Gas Chromatography with Mass-Spectroscopy (GC-MS)
- Inductive Coupled Plasma Mass-Spectroscopy (ICP-MS)
- Raman Spectroscopy
