SERC COMPLETED ISO 17025:2017 COMBINED AUDIT

SERC is making a good progression in order to achieve the granting of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. SMTL (SERC Mechanical Testing Laboratory) is one of the laboratories that is being focused by SERC for the accreditation. SERC apply for the mechanical testing and only focused for both tensile and flexural testing at the moment.

Recently SERC had completed Adequancy Audit (Transition to ISO/IEC 17025:2017) cum Pre-Assessment with the Department of Standard Malaysia's auditors.

The adequacy audit was conducted on 18 February 2019 with the present of Lead Auditor and the Pre-Assessment was conducted day after that with both Lead Assessor and Technical Assessor.

The purpose of the assessments is mainly for the assessor to ensure that SMTL continues to comply with MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and SAMM requirements. SAMM is an abbreviation for Skim Akreditasi Makmal Malaysia.

The assessments took place at SERC Mechanical Testing Laboratories located at SERC ground floor. During the pre-assessment, the auditor witness the tensile testing conducted by Muhamad Yasier, technical analyst for SMTL.

Prof Azlina Harun, SERC's Director chaired the Opening Meeting at SERC Training Room with the present of all SERC ISO team members and the auditors.

The assessments end with the closing meeting attended by the auditors, Prof Azlina, and all SERC ISO team members.
